"...Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people..." -MATTHEW 14:14-21
Watch this short vision video to see the heart behind the Loaves & Fishes campaign and where Crosspoint is headed in the season ahead.
From an unlikely beginning during a worldwide pandemic in 2020, we have watched God write an extraordinary story through Crosspoint Church. United by our mission "to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of His name among every nation," we have grown in love, faith, and purpose, as individuals and as a family.
Now we are embarking on a journey that will challenge us to grow together in biblical generosity.
"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen."
Loaves & Fishes is an invitation to lift our eyes and step forward in faith together.
In the Gospels, the disciples saw a need they could not meet on their own. All they had were five loaves and two fish—small, ordinary, and clearly not enough. But when they placed what they had into the hands of Jesus, He multiplied it. Everyone was fed. Everyone was filled. And there was more left over than when they began.
This season at Crosspoint is not just about improving spaces or meeting practical needs. It is about trusting Christ with what He has already given us and offering it back to Him as an act of worship. Loaves & Fishes is our shared step of faith, preparing room for ministry today, and positioning this church for the mission God has ahead.
Together, we bring what we have. Jesus does what only He can do.
With hope for what God will do,
Pastor Dave
Loaves & Fishes is a two-year campaign to strengthen and expand the ministry God has entrusted to us—so that more people may know Christ, grow in Him, and make Him known. This is more than a financial campaign—it is a shared commitment to deepen our impact, invest in future discipleship and mission, care well for our church home and family, and ensure greater accessibility and welcome for all. With gratitude for God's provision and hope for what lies ahead, what follows is a picture of the priorities and projects our leaders prayerfully envision as the fruit of this campaign.
This is the minimum amount needed to sustain church operations, staffing, ministry programming, and core mission continuity.
Supports new ministry opportunities, strategic improvements, and long-term initiatives that strengthen the church's future impact.
These initiatives represent how we will invest in the next season of ministry impact.

Because the Gospel is for everyone, we want our building to reflect that welcome.

April 12th – Sermon series on discipleship and generosity begins

Two-Year Fulfillment Phase
Fundamentally, this initiative is a spiritual journey that we are taking together. It is more than just about our finances or making improvements to our church campus, although each one does indeed materially benefit the daily experience of many in our congregation and newcomers.
Our prayer is that as we each at Crosspoint are challenged to trust God and to faithfully consider our obedient participation in Loaves & Fishes, we will experience His love, faithfulness, and provision anew, toward us. And in turn, we pray this would grow us in our devotion and generosity toward Him and our mission at Crosspoint Church.
Loaves & Fishes offers each of us at Crosspoint the opportunity to humbly and openly ask God what He would have you do to support this initiative.
There is no specific giving amount expected. We ask that each household be open to humbly praying for God’s guidance in how to participate in Loaves & Fishes, resulting in 100% engagement in our congregation - not equal amounts but equal sacrifice in whatever God places on each of our hearts.
There is a sample giving table located on the commitment card. These amounts are in no way required or expected, but are simply examples of possible giving amounts for you to reference.
God has a lot to say in His Word to His followers about stewardship and generosity toward others with our money and possessions - in fact, over 2,300 times, making it one of the most frequently discussed topics in scripture.
Generosity is rooted in God’s nature, with John 3:16 and Luke 11:13, just as two references, describing Him as the generous giver of not just our needs but the best gift of His Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit for our eternal salvation and indwelling help.
Over and over again, we are called, commanded, as His followers to generous living and greater Christ-likeness. Here are just a few other scriptural references to living generously as an act of worship to the Lord:
• 2 Corinthians 9:6-13
• 1 Timothy 6:17-19
• Hebrews 13:16
• Psalm 112:4-5
• Proverbs 11:24-26
We have prepared a two-year giving commitment card that we ask you to complete so that the finance office may compile the aggregate results of Loaves & Fishes.
Note that this card requests that you indicate what your current giving level is over the two years of this initiative as well as any additional giving to which you may be committing. Identified leaders and a video on the Crosspoint website are available to help you understand how to complete the commitment card.
We are asking that all commitment cards be returned by Sunday, May 3rd - “Commitment Sunday.”
Note that this card represents a projected commitment of giving over a two-year period, and each household’s actual giving schedule is, again, a matter between you and God. Finally, be assured that your giving will be confidential and aggregated with the other commitments when communicated to our leadership for decision-making purposes.
The commitment card allows you to offer to Loaves & Fishes any stored resources you may have accumulated or inherited, such as stocks, bonds, personal property, charitable trusts, collections of value, etc.
Please feel free to discuss this with the identified leaders regarding the disposition of such items to Crosspoint. However, note that our general approach is to offer advice and direction to do so, but to leave such disposition to the donor.
This is up to each household, as God has resourced it and as He directs it toward obedience over this two-year initiative. As such, some will give in periodic lump sums from current resources, while others will give in smaller and regular amounts as God provides for their ability to do so.
We have designated Sunday, May 24th, as “First Gift Sunday” in our two worship services, so that each household may wish to observe it as the beginning of the two-year fulfillment phase of Loaves & Fishes.
There are several ways to give - cash or check in one of the three offering boxes in the sanctuary and cafe, or by mail, or online through our website, or using the church’s QR code available in our printed materials.
When giving, please differentiate your gift(s) between your regular General Fund giving and any additional Loaves & Fishes Fund giving.
Whatever we raise during Loaves & Fishes, we will thank Him and give Him the glory. What a blessing to consider what more we can plan and accomplish if funds exceed our Loaves & Fishes goals.
The projects resulting from Loaves & Fishes have been well thought out and discussed by church leadership with considerable feedback received from many in the congregation through a feasibility study and focus group sessions.
As monies are received over the two-year period of Loaves & Fishes, the Crosspoint Leadership Council will decide which of the planned projects have priority over others and, in turn, assure their completion while overseeing that the regularly-budgeted ministries and expenses of the church are maintained.
During this fulfillment phase of Loaves & Fishes, the leaders will establish a regular communication process with the congregation to update it and to provide for open dialogue on the progress of this Loaves & Fishes initiative.
God measures success in terms of our trust and obedience to His leading, not merely by dollars raised and plans accomplished. We excitedly await how Loaves & Fishes will succeed by God’s measuring stick and not our own.
Please feel free to submit your question(s) or your request for a follow-up to LoavesandFishes@CrosspointRockford.com or call the office at (815)399-2665.
